Let's get started!

The Stock Valuation Report provides a detailed snapshot of stock levels and stock value across depots and engineer vans as of a selected date.

It provides a clear and accurate view of your inventory position at any given point in time.

This report helps teams across the business to:

  • Review the total value of stock held across the organisation.

  • Analyse stock held in depots, stores, engineer vans, or specific bin locations.

  • Understand stock quantities, costs, reserved quantities, and purchase analysis allocations.

  • Track historical stock valuation as of a given date.

  • Support accounting reconciliation, audits, and period-end reporting.

  • Identify slow-moving, high-value, or incorrectly allocated stock.

This report is essential for accurate financial reporting, effective stock control, and ongoing inventory optimisation.

Getting There

To access the Stock Valuation Report in Service Geeni:

  • Open the Business Intelligence module.

  • Select the Reports sub-module.

  • Navigate to the Stock category.

  • Click Stock Valuation Report to open the report.

  • Apply the required filters, then click Apply to generate the valuation.

Available Filters and Their Impact

Use the filters at the top of the report to control which stock items are included in the valuation.

  • Branch: Filters the report by branch or depot. This automatically uses the branch selected in the main Service Geeni interface and limits results to stock associated with those depots. If All Branches is selected, you can manually refine which depots are included.

Pro Tip: Use this to produce a valuation for a single depot or a consolidated business-wide view.

  • Engineer: Filters the report by engineer name, showing stock assigned to specific engineers as van stock. When one or more engineers are selected, van stock is automatically included in the valuation.

Pro Tip: Useful for reviewing the value of stock carried by individual engineers.

  • Date: Sets the “as at” date for the stock valuation. Only stock receipts and issues up to this date are included when calculating on-hand quantities. This supports historical valuations for audits and financial reporting periods.

Pro Tip: Set this to the last day of the month to generate accurate month-end valuations.

  • Include Van Stock with Branch: Includes the engineer van stock associated with the selected branch. When enabled, both depot stock and relevant van stock are included. This option is automatically enabled when the Engineer filter is used.

Pro Tip: Enable this to see a complete valuation per depot, including stock held by dispatched engineers.

  • Tools and Stock: Filters the report by item type. You can choose to include Tools only, Stock only, or both Tools and Stock. This filter uses item type configuration to include or exclude tool items.

Pro Tip: Helpful when separating consumable stock from internal tools for asset reporting.

  • Bin Location: Filters the report by specific bin locations. This shows only stock held in the selected bins, whether in a depot or an engineer’s van.

Pro Tip: Use this to validate bin audits or identify misplaced or misallocated stock.
