The Stock Take report shows the results of physical stock counts and highlights any discrepancies between what the system expected and what was actually counted. It is essential for validating inventory accuracy across depots, engineer vans, and other stockholding locations.
Use this report to:
Compare system quantities with physically counted quantities.
Identify variances caused by stock loss, miscounts, or data errors.
Review bin locations, serial numbers, and valuation impacts.
Analyse individual stocktake runs across branches or engineers.
Support accurate stock valuation and accountability.
Getting There
When you need to run the Stock Take report:
Open the Business Intelligence module.
Click Reports.
In the Reports window, open the Stock category.
Select Stock Take Report.
Apply your filters, then click Apply to generate the report.
Available Filters and Their Impact
Branch: Filters by the branch selected in the main Service Geeni interface.
Only stock take items linked to that branch or its engineer locations are included.
Stock Take Run Number: Filters by a specific stock take run ID. Use this to review a single stock take event in full.
Column Breakdown and Key Fields
Each row in the report represents a stock take item recorded during the selected stock take run.

Part No. | Stock item number. |
Description | Stock item description. |
Serial No. | Serial number, if applicable. |
Stocking Units | Unit of measure. |
Stock On Hand | System quantity when the stock take was created. |
Pre Revised Qty. | System quantity at the start of the stock take. |
Revised Qty. | Quantity counted during stock take. |
Qty. Variance | Difference between Revised Qty and Pre-Revised Qty. |
Cost Price | Cost price from the stock card. |
Value | Financial impact of the variance. |
Comments | Notes added by the stocktake user. |
Insight: The variance and valuation columns help identify shrinkage, errors, or adjustments that impact stock accuracy and financial reporting.
Use this report as part of your post-stock take review. Examine large variances, review comments from stock take users, and investigate recurring discrepancies.
