Written by Jui Hande

A New version of the Mobile App has been released, release notes for this can be found here: Mobile Release Notes

The following fixes and improvements were included in version 6.85.65 (Web), released on 8 October 2026.

Enhancements (12)

Refreshed engineer pages with in-page editing and audit log

The engineer pages have a fresh new look, making engineer records quicker to view, add and update from top to bottom:

Easier adding and editing: the Add and Edit Engineer pop-ups show every field in clear sections, with related fields grouped into sub-sections and the most important details at the top, so nothing is hidden or missed.

Consistent tabs, clearer data: every tab follows the same layout, and the Cost & Revenue tab presents figures cleanly, highlighting each row on hover to show exactly what is being edited.

Everything in one place: the engineer header shows the engineer's number, name, status, branch and team, with action buttons in the top right.

Edit without leaving the page: engineer details are edited directly on the page, using the same tabs they are viewed in, giving more space and a consistent layout.

Built-in audit log: the audit log sits alongside the other engineer tabs, with changes shown as highlighted chips so they are easy to spot.

For a full walkthrough with screenshots, see UI Refresh: Engineers.

Notice periods and refund calculation for contract termination

Users can now set a notice period on a service contract, in days, weeks or months, and the Terminate Contract window uses it to work out the Termination From date automatically. For contracts billed in advance, the window calculates the refund for the unused part of the paid invoice period or, where the final period has not yet been invoiced, a revised next invoice covering only the days used. The refund can be reviewed and overwritten before terminating, and the window also shows the invoice mode and each piece of equipment with its in-contract date. The refund is calculated and displayed for review and does not create a credit note automatically. This gives billing teams an accurate financial position at termination without manual calculations.

Site telephone and equipment power on hire agreements

Hire agreement document templates can now include the site telephone number and the equipment's Power. Both fields are available in the report designer, so they can be added to hire agreement layouts as needed, giving customers fuller contact and equipment details on their agreements.

Power and year of manufacture on equipment deal invoices

Equipment deal invoice templates can now include the Power and Year of Manufacture of the equipment being sold. Both fields are available in the report designer, so they can be added to invoice layouts as needed. This lets businesses show fuller specification details on high-value equipment sales, which many of their customers ask for.

Registration numbers and multi-skill entry on engineer records

Users can now record a registration number, such as a Gas Safe number, and an expiry date against each engineer skill. The Skills and Area Covered section shows the skill, type, registration number, expiry date and a status badge indicating whether the skill is Active or Expired, so lapsed registrations are easy to spot. The Add New Skill window also lets users add several skills in one go using the + icon, and remove individual rows with the delete icon before saving. The registration number is optional, and existing skills continue to display as before.

Scheduling API supports external scheduling tools

The scheduling API now lets external scheduling tools schedule and unschedule jobs directly. Businesses that plan work in their own scheduling system can push those schedules back so they reach engineers' devices, without re-entering them. This keeps the external plan and engineers' job lists in step.

On-stop checks for equipment deals, quotes, sales orders and invoices

On-stop customer checks now apply to equipment deals and quotes, sales orders and miscellaneous invoices. As soon as a user selects a customer who is on stop, users with permission are asked to confirm before continuing, while users without permission are stopped straight away, before any details are entered. Each area has its own setting in User Group Access, so administrators can control exactly who can raise equipment deals, quotes, sales orders and miscellaneous invoices for on-stop customers. This helps prevent new work and billing being raised for accounts that are on hold.

Service Status available for service contract reporting

The Service Status field is now available for service contract sequences in the report data dictionary.

Group form fields into panels

Users can now add panels to forms and group related fields inside them. Each panel acts as its own section, so longer forms can be organised into clear, logical blocks. This makes forms easier to build and quicker for engineers to work through.

Start SLA timers from the next business day

Administrators can now flag a priority so that jobs raised at that priority start their SLA response and completion timers from the next business day rather than from the call log date and time.

Jobs logged out of hours are then measured from a fair working-hours start point, so SLA breaches are not recorded for time when no one was expected to be working. Back-office schedulers get more accurate SLA reporting for out-of-hours jobs.

Country selection for custom addresses

Users can now select a country when entering a custom address. This means addresses are captured in full, with the country recorded alongside the other address details.

Report a Problem enabled in the mobile app for all customers

The option for engineers to report a problem with the mobile app is now switched on for all customers. This gives engineers a quick way to flag issues they experience while using the app, helping the team identify and resolve mobile issues faster. Customers who would prefer this feature switched off can contact Customer Success or Support to have it disabled.

Fixes (28)

Search validation prompt in Add Kit Parts

In the Add Kit Parts popup, searching without entering a keyword did not show a validation prompt.

This has been fixed so an alert now prompts the user to enter a keyword before searching. Users get clear feedback instead of an empty search.

Invoice date editable when reissuing hire contracts

When reissuing a terminated hire contract, the invoice date field was greyed out, which prevented the contract from being reissued. This has been fixed, so users can now set the invoice date when reissuing a terminated hire contract.

Copying parent equipment no longer interrupts equipment editing

When users created a new equipment record using the Copy option from the Parent Equipment field, they were taken to the new record's details page and lost their place in the equipment they were adding or editing. This has been fixed, so users now return to the original equipment form once the copy is saved and can carry on assigning the parent equipment without starting again.

Labour carried over when splitting a task into a new job

When a task was split into a new job, its labour bookings were not always moved across, which could leave the invoice document out of line with the job's financial figures. This has been fixed, so labour bookings now move to the new job and are included correctly on its invoice.

Booking miscellaneous items to jobs on mobile fixed

Some part bookings made on the mobile app failed with a 'value was either too large or too small' error, particularly when booking miscellaneous items, and the booked parts disappeared after the app refreshed. This has been fixed, so miscellaneous items, stock items and kit parts now book to jobs reliably from the mobile app.

Part request dates from mobile now sync correctly

When engineers raised a part request on the mobile app and chose a date, that date was not carried across to the web application, and the Date Needed field was blank when the request was opened. This has been fixed, so the date selected on mobile is now saved as the Date Needed and the Date Requested shows the day the request was raised, giving office teams an accurate view of when parts are required.

Supplier reference sent to Sage for stock return credits

When credit notes for stock returns were posted to Sage, the credit note number was not being passed across as the supplier reference, making these credits difficult to track and reconcile. This has been fixed, so the credit note number now appears as the supplier reference in Sage, allowing finance teams to match credits to supplier returns.

Off-hired equipment shown on later hire contract invoices

When equipment was collected (off-hired) from a hire contract, later invoices for that contract were missing the equipment details and could show incorrect totals. This has been fixed, so collected equipment now appears on invoices covering periods up to the off-hire date, and no longer appears on operational documents such as hire agreements, delivery notes and collection notes.

Job Enquiry loading speed improved

On some systems, Job Enquiry could take several minutes to load after a job number was entered. This has been resolved, so job details now load promptly.

Global icon restored for repair job charge code

On service contracts and quotes, the global icon was missing beside the Repair Job Charge Code, so users could not reach the actions available for that charge code. This has been fixed, so the icon now appears on both screens and all applicable charge code actions are available.

Raise and Accept restored for revised equipment deal quotes

When an equipment deal quote was revised, the Raise and Accept options were missing, so the quote could not be progressed to an active deal for invoicing. This has been fixed, so revised equipment deal quotes can now be raised and accepted as normal.

Hire quote preview from edit screen shows full details

When previewing or printing a hire quote from the Edit Quotation screen, most of the quote details, such as customer, equipment, pricing and contract period, were missing from the document. This has been fixed, so the preview now includes the full quote information, matching documents sent from the Communication Centre.

Non-chargeable labour and travel no longer charged after rounding

When labour or travel was booked with a non-chargeable charge code on a job or task set up with a chargeable code that applies time rounding, the difference between the actual and rounded time was being charged and appeared on the invoice. This has been fixed, so rounding now follows the charge code on each time booking: non-chargeable time, including any rounding, stays at £0.00, while chargeable time continues to round and invoice as normal.

Xero account sync no longer overwrites addresses

When customer and supplier accounts synced from Xero, the 'Attention to' contact details were being added into the first address line, overwriting addresses with contact names and phone numbers. This has been fixed, so account addresses now sync correctly from Xero.

Target resolution date set when jobs are raised

When a job was raised with a priority code, the target completion date and time were not always set, and only appeared once the priority was changed or updated. This has been fixed, so target dates are now set as soon as the job is created.

Document upload restored on Stock Issue to Job

On the Stock Issue to Job screen, choosing to upload a document displayed a 'Something went wrong' message and no document could be attached. This has been fixed, so users can now select and upload documents against stock issues as normal.

Delete All now permanently removes scheduler documents

In the Scheduler, using Delete All on documents or images uploaded to a record made them disappear briefly, but they reappeared the next time the upload section was opened. This has been fixed, so Delete All now permanently removes every selected document, saving users from deleting each one individually.

Engineer kept when editing existing labour bookings

When editing an existing labour booking in Job Control for an engineer who was no longer issued to the task, the engineer field switched to a different engineer without any input, which could lead to time being booked to the wrong person. This has been fixed, so the original engineer is now kept unless the user deliberately changes it.

Negative and zero readings accepted on test forms

When entering a negative or zero Actual Reading on a test form in the web application, the reading could not be saved, so the test result could not be updated. This has been fixed, so negative and zero readings can now be entered and saved as normal.

Equipment now shown on invoices for revised equipment deals

When an equipment deal was revised and then invoiced, the equipment being sold was missing from the invoice preview and printout. This has been fixed, so equipment details now appear correctly on invoices raised after a deal revision.

Fixed-price contract value no longer doubles on revision

When a fixed-price service contract with no equipment was revised, its invoice value doubled each time the contract was amended. This has been fixed, so revising these contracts now keeps the correct invoice value and invoice schedule.

Engineer-raised jobs now show their creator in reports

In Business Intelligence reports, the Created By field was blank for jobs raised by engineers on the mobile app. This has been fixed, so these jobs now show the name of the engineer who raised them, including jobs that have already been invoiced, while jobs raised on the web or portal are unchanged.

Correct SKU added when entering parts directly on jobs

When users typed or pasted a SKU directly to add a part to a job, the system sometimes added a linked superseded or alternative part instead, even after the link had been removed. This has been fixed, so the exact SKU entered is now added to the job and superseded parts are no longer substituted automatically.

Releasing sales orders for invoicing fixed

Some sales orders could not be released for invoicing and stayed stuck at the Generate Invoice stage, with nothing happening when Release For Invoicing was clicked. This has been fixed, so these sales orders now release correctly, a delivery note is created and the order moves on for invoice generation.

On-stop miscellaneous invoice permission moved to correct section

In User Group Access, the permission that controls whether users can raise miscellaneous invoices for on-stop customers appeared under the Invoices section, making it hard to find. This has been fixed, so the permission now sits under the Miscellaneous Invoice section, and existing settings for each user group are unchanged.

Unit selection on equipment test forms fixed

When selecting a unit in Form Details for equipment test forms, an 'Object reference not set' error appeared and the unit could not be chosen or changed. This has been fixed, so users can now select and update the unit on any form.

Manually overridden Refund value retained for automatic Service Contract Credit Notes.

The Service Contract termination process has been corrected to ensure that a manually overridden Refund value is retained and used when an automatic Credit Note is requested.

Previously, although the updated Refund was displayed correctly in Balance Payment Details, the Credit Note process could revert to the original calculated Refund value. The confirmed Refund value is now retained throughout the termination and scheduled Credit Note process.

Balance Payment Details, the Credit Note confirmation message, and the generated Credit Note now consistently use the manually confirmed Refund value, including the appropriate Net, VAT, and Total values.

Service Contract termination invoicing options and financial values corrected.

The Service Contract termination process has been corrected to ensure Invoice Until Cancellation Date is selected by default when the Terminate Contract popup is first opened.

When Stop Invoicing Now is selected, any existing Refund, Credit Value, or Revised Next Invoice is now reset to £0.00, along with the corresponding value in Balance Payment Details. These cleared values are not carried forward into the termination process or used for automatic Credit Note creation.

This ensures the selected invoicing option and associated financial values remain consistent throughout the contract termination process.
