Understand what Stock Transfer is and how it works!

The Stock Transfer function enables the movement of stock items from one location to another. For example, it allows you to transfer stock from a branch bin to an engineer’s van bin and vice versa.

Getting There

  • You can find the Stock Transfer module in the Stock menu.

You can also access Stock Transfer in numerous ways.

  • You can select the tile from the Stock dashboard.

  • From the Stock Record via the Action Tray. This allows you to reallocate all or part of the order to jobs, van stock, sales orders or stock.

  • Finally, you can access it from the stock record itself by clicking the Stock Transfer icon on the left.

Stock Transfer

In the Stock Transfer module, you can view a list of transfers that have occurred, create new ones and also Accept Parts.

  • You'll notice a New Stock Transfer button just below the search icon, you can click this to create a new one.

This opens the New Stock Transfer window.

Now, you can start to fill out all the fields:

  • Choose an intended Transfer Date.

  • Then, select the From Branch / Van as the source location for the transfer. Use the ellipsis (...) to open a selection list.

  • The To Branch / Van is the new destination for the transfer. Use the ellipsis again to open a list to select from.

  • In the SKU field, select the product items via the ellipsis list.

  • Quantity In Stock will display the available quantity of the item in the source location.

  • The To Bin section specifies what bin the item will go to, use the ellipsis to open the available list of locations.

  • Next, you can enter a part number against Superseded By if relevant. This field is optional.

  • Enter an amount in the Quantity To Transfer.

  • If the items are being collected, stitch the toggle on and select a Box location via the ellipsis.

  • Enter a Reason for Quarantine, this field is only available if the Bin location has Quarantine specified.

  • Further down the page, select Add to List to add the item to the transfer list, followed by Raise Stock Transfer, this opens a preview window.

Here you can also raise a PO.

A preview window will open.

  • Click Confirm Stock Transfer to initiate it.

  • You can now see the record in the Stock Transfers list, expanding the nested grid lets you see the transfer detail.

  • Should you ever need to add documents to a transfer, the Action Tray allows you to do so.

Select the quantity you want to reallocate, then choose the identifier.

You have successfully used the Stock Transfer feature.
