Purpose of the Report

The Engineer Login / Logout Activity dashboard is designed to provide visibility into engineer system access and working activity by tracking login and logout times. It helps managers and supervisors monitor engineer attendance, identify unusually long working sessions, and highlight potential issues such as duplicate logout records or missing logout activities.

By reviewing login durations and warning indicators, users can better understand engineer availability, support workforce management, and ensure accurate recording of engineer activity across branches and teams.

How to Access the Dashboard

  1. From the main navigation menu, select the Self Service module.

  2. Open the All Standard Dashboards folder.

  3. Locate Engineer Login Logout Activity.

  4. Click Preview to open the dashboard.

  5. Apply any desired filters. The dashboard will automatically refresh based on the filters selected.

Dashboard Filters & Descriptions

The dashboard includes several filters that allow users to narrow down the data displayed. Applying filters helps focus the report on specific engineers, branches, or teams.

Engineer Name

  • Type: Drop-down selection

  • Description: Filters the dashboard to display login and logout activity for a selected engineer. This is useful when reviewing the activity history of an individual engineer.

Branch Name

  • Type: Drop-down selection

  • Description: Filters the results by branch location, allowing users to review engineer activity within a specific branch.

Team Name

  • Type: Text box

  • Description: Allows users to enter a team name to display login and logout activity for engineers belonging to that team. Partial or full team names may be entered depending on reporting requirements.

Login / Logout Activity Table

The main data table displays detailed engineer login and logout information based on the selected filters.

Data Quality Filter

The table automatically excludes records where the Branch Name is blank or contains NULL values. This ensures that only valid and properly assigned engineer activity records are displayed.

Column Field Definitions (Data Table)

Engineer No

Unique identifier assigned to the engineer.

Engineer Name

Full name of the engineer associated with the login/logout activity.

Conditional Formatting & Warning Indicators

The dashboard includes several conditional formatting rules to help users quickly identify records that may require investigation.

Duplicate Logout Time Detection

The Logout Time field is highlighted when duplicate Logout Time values are detected:

Formatting Applied:

  • Text Colour: Red

  • Background Colour: Mid-dark pink

This visual indicator helps identify potential duplicate records or situations where logout activity may require further review.

Extended Login Duration Detection

The Duration (Hours) field is highlighted when the duration is greater than or equal to 13 hours.

Formatting Applied:

  • Text Colour: Red

  • Background Colour: Mid-dark pink

This allows supervisors and managers to quickly identify unusually long sessions that may indicate overtime work, missed logout events, or data anomalies.

Final Remarks

The Engineer Login / Logout Activity dashboard provides valuable insight into engineer system access and working durations. Through its filtering capabilities, detailed activity records, and built-in warning indicators, users can efficiently monitor attendance patterns, identify potential data inconsistencies, and review extended working periods.

Regular review of this dashboard can assist with operational oversight, workforce management, and ensuring the accuracy of engineer login and logout records across branches and teams.
