The Open Jobs Report provides visibility of all active jobs that have not yet been completed.

Use this report to monitor open work, review job status, manage engineer workload, and identify jobs that may require attention.

This report helps teams to:

  • Monitor open jobs across branches and customer sites.

  • Review job status and progression.

  • Identify overdue or high-priority work.

  • Monitor engineer allocation and workload.

  • Support operational planning and resource management.


Getting There

To access the Open Jobs Report in Service Geeni:

  • Open the Business Intelligence module.

  • Select the KPI Viewer sub-module.

  • Locate and select the Open Jobs report.

  • (Optional) Select the gear icon on the report tile to add or modify filters before generating the report.


Available Filters and Their Impact

The following filters can be used to refine the report data:

  • Branch: Filters the report based on the selected branch.

Tip: Use this filter to focus on a specific branch or review open jobs across multiple branches.

  • Period: Filters the report based on the job creation date.

Tip: Use shorter periods to review recent activity or longer periods to identify operational trends.


Report Overview

  • View By Type: Displays open jobs grouped by job type. The accompanying pie chart shows the number of open jobs by type, helping to identify where the workload is concentrated.

  • View By Status: Displays open jobs grouped by status. The accompanying bar chart summarises open jobs by current status, making it easier to identify work awaiting action.

  • View By Date: Displays open jobs grouped by agreed visit date.

  • View By Job: Displays detailed information for each open job. This view is useful when reviewing specific jobs, assigned engineers, target dates, and customer information.


Column Breakdown and Key Fields

Job No.

Unique job identifier in Job Number and Task Number format.

Equipment

Equipment ID associated with the task.

Location

The customer site where the work is being carried out.

Type

Job type associated with the task.

Status

Current job status, such as Issued, Unissued, or Scheduled.

Area

Area associated with the customer site.

Sub Area

Subdivision of the site area.

Call Date

Date the job was created.

Description

Description of the task.

Engineer Name

Engineer or engineers assigned to the task.

Cost Code

Charge code associated with the job.

Customer

Customer account name.

Target Date

Target issue date for the task.

Agreed Visit Date

Date agreed with the customer for the visit.

No. of Days Open

Number of days the task has remained open.

Raised By

User who created the task.

Priority Code

Description of the priority assigned to the job.

Insight: Regularly reviewing open jobs helps ensure work is progressing as expected and allows teams to identify jobs that may require intervention.

The Open Jobs Report is an important operational tool for monitoring active work and managing service delivery.

Using this report allows teams to:

  • Monitor open jobs across branches and customer sites.

  • Identify overdue or high-priority work.

  • Review the engineer workload and allocation.

  • Track job progress and status changes.

  • Support operational planning and decision-making.

Review this report regularly, ideally on a daily or weekly basis, to ensure open jobs are progressing as expected, prioritise outstanding work, and maintain visibility of operational workload.
