Overview

The Jobs - Revenue, Profit, Margin dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of job financial performance. It allows users to analyse revenue, costs, profit, profit margin, and markup across different customers, sites, equipment, job types, and cost categories.

The dashboard also provides detailed financial analysis of individual jobs, including labour, travel, stock parts, miscellaneous costs, and their associated revenue and profit.


Accessing the Report

To access the report:

  1. From the navigation menu, click Self Service.

  2. Open the All Standard Dashboards folder.

  3. Locate Jobs - Revenue, Profit, Margin.

  4. Click Preview to open the dashboard.

  5. Apply any desired filters. The dashboard will automatically refresh based on the selected filters.


The report contains 9 pages:

1. Summary

The Summary page provides an overall financial overview of jobs, including revenue, profit, profit margin, and markup. It also allows users to compare financial performance across different customers and job completion statuses.

Dashboard Filters

Completed Date

Allows users to select a start and end date based on when jobs were completed.

Customer

Filters the dashboard by customer name and customer number.

Site

Filters the dashboard by site name and location.


KPI Charts

Revenue

Displays the total revenue generated from jobs within the selected filters.

Revenue: Not Completed Revenue

Displays revenue associated with jobs that have not yet been completed, including jobs with the status Cancelled, Issued, or Unissued.

Revenue: Completed

Displays revenue from jobs with the status Completed.

Revenue: Submitted

Displays revenue from jobs with the status Submitted.

Revenue: Invoiced

Displays revenue from jobs with the status Invoiced.

Profit

Displays the total profit generated from jobs within the selected filters.

Profit: Not Completed Profit

Displays profit associated with jobs that have not yet been completed, including Cancelled, Issued, and Unissued jobs.

Profit: Completed

Displays profit from jobs with the status Completed.

Profit: Submitted

Displays profit from jobs with the status Submitted.

Profit: Invoiced

Displays profit from jobs with the status Invoiced.

Profit Margin

Displays the overall profit margin for the selected jobs.

Profit Margin: Not Completed Profit Margin

Displays the profit margin associated with Cancelled, Issued, and Unissued jobs.

Profit Margin: Completed

Displays the profit margin for Completed jobs.

Profit Margin: Submitted

Displays the profit margin for Submitted jobs.

Profit Margin: Invoiced

Displays the profit margin for Invoiced jobs.

Markup

Displays the total markup generated from the selected jobs.

Markup: Not Completed Markup

Displays markup associated with Cancelled, Issued, and Unissued jobs.

Markup: Completed

Displays markup generated from Completed jobs.

Markup: Submitted

Displays markup generated from Submitted jobs.

Markup: Invoiced

Displays markup generated from Invoiced jobs.


Column Chart - Revenue

  • Values: Sum of job revenue

  • Legend: Customer name

Displays job revenue by customer, allowing users to compare revenue generated across customers.


Column Chart - Markup %

  • Values: Sum of job markup

  • Legend: Customer name

Displays markup generated by each customer, allowing users to compare customer-level markup performance.


Column Chart - Profit

  • Values: Sum of job profit

  • Legend: Customer name

Displays the profit generated by each customer.


Stacked Area Chart - Profit

  • Values: Sum of job profit

  • Legend: Completed Date Year, then Quarter

  • Trellis Columns: Customer name

Shows how profit changes over time for each customer, broken down by year and quarter.


Line Chart

  • Values: Sum of job profit

  • Axis: Completed Date Year, then Quarter

Displays the overall profit trend over time.


2. Service

The Service page focuses specifically on jobs classified as Service Jobs. It provides an overview of their revenue, profit, markup, and individual job details.

Dashboard Filters

Period: Completed Date

Filters service jobs by their completion date using a start and end date.

Period: Call Date

Filters service jobs by their call date using a start and end date.

Customer / Site: Customer

Filters service jobs by customer.

Customer / Site: Site

Filters service jobs by site and location.

Asset: Equipment

Filters service jobs by equipment ID and equipment description.


KPI Charts - Servicing Summary

  • Revenue – Displays total revenue generated from Service Jobs.

  • Profit – Displays total profit generated from Service Jobs.

  • Markup – Displays total markup generated from Service Jobs.

All three KPIs are filtered by Task Type = Service Job.


Pie Chart

  • Values: Sum of job revenue

  • Legend: Customer name

Shows the distribution of service job revenue across customers.


Stacked Column Chart

  • Values: Sum of job revenue

  • Axis: Customer name

Displays service job revenue by customer.


Pivot Table

  • Values: Job Revenue

  • Rows: Completed Date, Job Number, Customer, Equipment ID, Job State

Provides detailed revenue information for individual service jobs.

Filter: Task Type = Service Job.


3. Repairs

The Repairs page provides financial information specifically for Repair Jobs, including revenue, profit, markup, and first-time-fix performance.

Dashboard Filters

Period: Completed Date

Filters repair jobs by completion date.

Period: Call Date

Filters repair jobs by call date.

Customer / Site: Customer

Filters repair jobs by customer.

Customer / Site: Site

Filters repair jobs by site and location.

Asset: Equipment

Filters repair jobs by equipment ID and description.


KPI Charts

  • Revenue – Displays total revenue generated from Repair Jobs.

  • Profit – Displays total profit generated from Repair Jobs.

  • Markup – Displays total markup generated from Repair Jobs.


Pie Chart - % of First Time Fix

  • Values: Sum of first time fix

Shows the first-time-fix results associated with repair work. This is filtered where the job description contains "Repair".


Pie Chart

  • Values: Distinct count of job

Shows the distribution of repair jobs based on the available job information. It is filtered where the job description contains "Repair".


Stacked Column Chart

  • Values: Sum of fixed price and sum of job revenue

  • Axis: Customer name and Site name

Compares fixed-price revenue and total job revenue across customers and sites.

Filter: Task Type = Service Job.


Pivot Table - Repairs

  • Values: Job Markup, Job Cost, Job Profit, Job Revenue

  • Rows: Job No., Customer, Site, Cost Code, Fixed Price

Provides detailed financial information for individual repair jobs.

Filters: Task Type = Repair Job and Agreed Visit Date is not NULL.


4. Revenue

The Revenue page provides a detailed breakdown of job revenue across different revenue categories and customers.

Dashboard Filters

Customer

Filters the report by customer name.

Site

Filters the report by site and location.

Charge

Filters the report by job cost code.


KPI Charts - Revenue Summary

  • Parts – Displays the combined revenue from stock parts and miscellaneous items.

  • Parts: Stock Parts Revenue – Displays revenue generated from stock parts.

  • Parts: Misc Revenue – Displays miscellaneous revenue.

  • Labour – Displays revenue generated from labour.

  • Travel – Displays revenue generated from travel.


Pie Chart

  • Values: Sum of job profit

  • Legend: Job cost code

Displays job profit by cost code.

Filter: Job description contains "Repair".


Column Chart

  • Values: Sum of job revenue

  • Axis: Customer name

Displays revenue by customer.

Filter: Priority = Breakdown or NULL.


Pivot Table - Profitability of Job

  • Values: Job Revenue, Job Markup

  • Rows: Job No., Job Cost Code

Provides revenue and markup details for individual jobs and cost codes.

Filter: Job State is not Cancelled, Unissued, or Issued.


Pivot Table

  • Values: Fixed Price, Job Profit, Job Revenue

  • Rows: Customer, Site, Job No.

Provides a detailed financial breakdown by customer, site, and job.


5. Profit

The Profit page focuses on analysing job profitability and the contribution of different revenue/cost categories to overall profit.

Dashboard Filters

Customer

Filters by customer name.

Site

Filters by site and location.

Charge

Filters by job cost code.


KPI Charts - Profit Summary

  • Parts – Displays the combined profit from stock parts and miscellaneous items.

  • Parts: Stock Parts Profit – Displays profit generated from stock parts.

  • Parts: Misc Profit – Displays miscellaneous profit.

  • Labour – Displays profit generated from labour.

  • Travel – Displays profit generated from travel.


Pie Chart - Job Profit by Job Cost Code

  • Values: Sum of job profit

  • Legend: Job cost code

Shows how job profit is distributed across different cost codes.

Filter: Job description contains "Repair".


Column Chart

  • Values: Sum of job profit

  • Axis: Customer name

Displays profit generated by each customer.

Filter: Priority = Breakdown or NULL.


Pivot Table - Profitability of Job

  • Values: Job Profit, Job Markup

  • Rows: Job No., Job Cost Code

Provides detailed profit and markup information by job and cost code.

Filter: Job State is not Cancelled, Unissued, or Issued.


Pivot Table

  • Values: Fixed Price, Job Profit, Job Revenue

  • Rows: Customer, Site, Job No.

Provides a detailed view of revenue, profit, and fixed-price values for each job.


6. Job Financial Analysis

The Job Financial Analysis page provides a detailed breakdown of job costs, revenue, profit, margins, and markup. It also allows users to analyse individual financial components such as labour, parts, miscellaneous costs, and travel.

Dashboard Filters

Call Date

Filters jobs by call date.

Completed Date

Filters jobs by completion date.

Job No.

Filters the analysis by job number.

Customer

Filters by customer name and number.

Site

Filters by site name and site ID.

Equipment

Filters by equipment ID.


Tab 1: Financial Breakdown

Pivot Table - Job Cost by Equipment

  • Values: Job Cost

  • Columns: Equipment ID

Displays job costs associated with each equipment item.


Pivot Table - Job Cost by Equipment ID

  • Values: Job Cost

  • Rows: Equipment ID

Provides a row-based breakdown of job costs by equipment.


Pivot Table - Financial Analysis of Jobs

  • Values: Cost, Revenue, Profit, Profit Margin %, Markup %

  • Rows: Equipment ID

Provides an overall financial performance summary for each equipment item.

7. Job Analysis

The Job Analysis page provides detailed analysis of individual jobs, with separate sections for parts, miscellaneous items, labour, and travel.

Dashboard Filters

Job

Filters by job number.

Customer

Filters by customer name and number.

Site

Filters by site name and site ID.

Equipment

Filters by equipment ID.


Stacked Column Chart 1

  • Values: Job Profit

  • Axis: Job Number

Displays the profit generated by each job.


Stacked Column Chart 2

  • Values: Labour Revenue, Travel Revenue, Stock Revenue, Misc Revenue

  • Axis: Job Number

Provides a breakdown of job revenue by revenue category.


Stacked Column Chart 3

  • Values: Stock Profit, Misc Profit, Labour Profit, Travel Profit

Displays the contribution of each category to overall job profit.

Data Table - Stock Parts

Provides detailed stock-part financial information:

  • Job & Task – Identifies the job and associated task.

  • Cost – Cost of the stock parts.

  • Revenue – Revenue generated from the parts.

  • Profit – Profit generated from the parts.

  • Markup – Markup generated from the parts.


Data Table - Miscellaneous Items

Provides detailed miscellaneous-item financial information:

  • Job & Task – Identifies the job and task.

  • Cost – Cost of miscellaneous items.

  • Revenue – Miscellaneous revenue.

  • Profit – Miscellaneous profit.

  • Profit Margin – Profit margin for miscellaneous items.

  • Markup – Markup generated from miscellaneous items.


Tab 2: Labour & Travel

Column Charts

The labour charts show labour revenue by engineer, while the travel charts show travel revenue by engineer. The corresponding charts use engineer name as the series to allow comparison between engineers.


Data Table - Labour

  • Job No. – Job number associated with the labour.

  • Labour Cost – Cost of labour.

  • Labour Revenue – Revenue generated from labour.

  • Labour Profit – Profit generated from labour.


Data Table - Travel

  • Job No. – Job number associated with the travel.

  • Travel Cost – Cost associated with travel.

  • Travel Revenue – Revenue generated from travel.

  • Travel Profit – Profit generated from travel.


8. Job Totals

The Job Totals page provides a financial summary of jobs and allows users to review overall job, parts, stock parts, miscellaneous, labour, and travel performance.

Dashboard Filters

  • Job No. – Filters by job number.

  • Customer – Filters by customer name and number.

  • Site – Filters by site name and site ID.

  • Equipment – Filters by equipment ID.


Tab 1: Job Totals

Indicator - Job

  • Actual Value: Job Revenue

  • Target Value: Job Cost

Compares job revenue against job cost.


Pie Chart - Job

Displays the relationship between job cost and job revenue.


Pivot Table - Job Totals

  • Values: Cost, Revenue, Profit, Profit Margin, Markup

  • Rows: Job Number

Provides a complete financial summary for each job.


Pivot Table - Totals by Equipment

  • Values: Cost, Revenue, Markup, Profit Margin

  • Rows: Equipment ID

Provides financial performance by equipment.


Tab 2: Parts

The Parts tab provides a breakdown of total parts, stock parts, and miscellaneous financial performance.

9. All Jobs

The All Jobs page provides a consolidated financial view of all jobs returned by the selected filters.

Pivot Table - Jobs

Values:

  • Cost – Total cost associated with the job.

  • Revenue – Total revenue generated by the job.

  • Profit – Profit generated by the job.

Rows:

  • Job Number – Identifies the job.

  • Customer – Customer associated with the job.

  • Site – Site where the job was carried out.

  • Equipment ID – Equipment associated with the job.

  • Job State – Current state of the job.

  • Job Description – Description of the work or job.

This pivot table provides a consolidated view of job financial performance together with the associated customer, site, equipment, and job status information.


Final Remarks

The Jobs - Revenue, Profit, Margin report provides a comprehensive view of job financial performance from high-level summaries through to detailed job-level analysis. Users can use the different pages and filters to review revenue, costs, profit, profit margin, markup, labour, travel, parts, and miscellaneous costs.

The report is particularly useful for identifying profitable and underperforming jobs, analysing customer and site performance, reviewing individual job costs, and understanding how different cost and revenue categories contribute to overall profitability.
