The Hire Forecast Summary Report provides a consolidated overview of hire contract activity and projected revenue based on selected periods, branches, and equipment. It helps finance and operational teams to:

  • Track hire revenue per hire option, equipment, or customer.

  • Monitor invoice and hire rates across contracts.

  • Identify trends in equipment hire demand and revenue generation.

  • Forecast hiring activity for financial planning and resource allocation.

This report supports both operational and strategic planning by giving visibility into current and upcoming hire commitments.


Getting There

To access the Hire Forecast Summary Report in Service Geeni, follow these steps:

  • Open the Business Intelligence module.

  • Click on the Reports sub-module.

  • In the Reports window, navigate to the Finance category.

  • Click the Hire Forecast Summary module to open the report.

  • Add the desired filters (explained below), then click the Apply button to generate the report.


Available Filters and Their Impact

Use the filters at the top of the report to refine which hire contracts and invoice data are displayed:

  • Branch: Filters the report by the branch selected in the main Service Geeni interface.

    • The report defaults to the selected branch, but you can review multiple branches if required.

Tip: Focus on a single branch’s hire activity or consolidate all branches for group level analysis.

  • Period: Filters the report based on the invoice date (To Date) of hire contracts. Only hire contracts invoiced within the selected period are displayed.

Tip: Review past hire revenue or forecast future hire commitments.

  • Contract: Filters the report to display data for specific hire contracts.

Tip: Review individual contract performance or reconcile contract revenue.

  • Customer Account: Filters the report by the customer account linked to hire contracts.

Tip: Analyse hire revenue per customer or identify key revenue generating accounts.

  • Equipment ID: Filters the report by specific hire equipment IDs.

Tip: Track the performance or usage of high value equipment.

  • Equipment Make / Model: Filters the report by the make and model of hire equipment.

Tip: Identify popular equipment types or analyse revenue by equipment category.


Column Breakdown and Key Fields

This report has two tables:

  • Summary

  • Details

Column Name

Description

Hire Option

Name of the hire option linked to the contract. Defaults to “Unknown” if not set.

Hire Rate (Summary)

Total hire rate amount per hire option.

Extras (Summary)

Total additional charges per hire option.

Invoice Price (Summary)

Total charge from the invoice per hire option.

Branch

Branch description of the hire contract.

Contract No.

Unique hire contract number.

Account No.

Customer account number linked to the hire contract.

Account Name

Customer account name linked to the hire contract.

Equipment ID

Hire equipment ID linked to the contract.

Model

Hire equipment model description.

Make

Hire equipment make description.

Customer Reference

Reference assigned by the customer for the hire equipment.

From Date

Hire contract invoice start date.

To Date

Hire contract invoice end date.

Rate Duration

Duration for which the hire rate is applied.

Hire Rate (Detail)

Hire rate amount per piece of equipment in the contract.

Extras (Detail)

Additional hire charges per piece of equipment in the contract.

Invoice Price (Detail)

Invoice price plus any minimum charges applied.

VAT

VAT amount applied to the invoice.

Invoice Price Incl. VAT

Total invoice price including VAT.

Insight: Reviewing the Hire Forecast Summary regularly allows teams to forecast revenue, identify high-performing contracts or equipment, and detect any discrepancies in invoicing or charge calculations.
