Weekly Hire Invoices in Service Geeni do not automatically run Monday to Sunday. Instead, invoices are driven by:
• The Contract Start Date.
• The First Invoice Date.
• The Invoice Frequency (Weekly, Monthly etc.).
• Whether billing is In Advance or In Arrears.
This means a weekly invoice can run across any 7-day period.
How Weekly Billing Works
The Hire Contract will always charge your customer from the Contract Start Date.
The First Invoice Date dictates when the first invoice is raised, then the billing frequency determines the cycle going forward.
For example:
Contract Start Date: Thursday 26 September.
First Invoice Date: Monday 30 September.
Frequency: Weekly in Arrears.
The first invoice will cover 26–30 September.
After that, invoices will run every Monday for the previous week.
There is no restriction that forces billing to align to Monday–Sunday.
Billing In Advance
If you prefer to bill in advance, you’ll need to ensure: The Contract Start Date aligns with the intended invoice period (Example: Monday 23 September).
When adding the equipment to the contract, set the: Date To Add To Contract as the true usage start date(Example: Thursday 26 September).
Use Charge Per Equipment (not contract-level fixed pricing): Because the equipment is only considered on-contract from Thursday, the first invoice automatically adjusts to charge a partial week.
Summary
Scenario | Result |
Contract starts mid-week | First invoice prorates from actual start date |
First Invoice Date set later | Initial invoice covers start date to invoice date |
Billing In Advance | Align Contract Start Date to intended billing cycle |
Equipment joins contract later | Invoice adjusts automatically for partial use |
