Let's get started!
You can now raise a Purchase Order directly from the Trade-In tab of an Equipment Deal, without leaving the page.
This works whether you're trading in a new item selected from your Catalogue or an existing piece of Equipment.
Trade-In from Catalogue (Add to Stock)
If you're trading in an item from the Catalogue and adding it to stock:
Open the Trade-In tab on the Equipment Deal.
Select your Catalogue item.
Select Yes in the Add to Stock field.
Click Add Trade In Equipment.
Before you can raise the Purchase Order, the Equipment Deal must be updated.
For a new deal, raise the deal, then reopen it.
For an existing deal, create a new revision, then reopen it.
Once you've reopened the deal:
Find the trade-in item.
Open the Action Tray.
Select Raise Purchase Order.
The Purchase Order is created against the Catalogue item you selected. The Cost Price is automatically populated using the Trade-In Value, so there's no need to enter it again.
If the customer has an existing supplier record, this is pulled through onto the PO.
If not, a new Supplier is created using the Customer's details.
From here, the standard Goods Receiving process applies.
Once the item has been received, Service Geeni creates the Equipment Record using the Trade-In Value.
Trade-In of Existing Equipment
If an Equipment Record already exists for the item being traded in, the process is even simpler.
Raise the Purchase Order against the existing Equipment Record using the standard equipment purchase order process.
What hasn't changed
Your existing Equipment for Sale Purchase Order and Goods Receiving processes haven't changed.
This update simply gives you an additional way to raise a Purchase Order for Trade-In Equipment directly from the Equipment Deal.
