Enhancements (3):

Improved Mobile Registration

We’re excited to introduce the first step in our new communications system for the mobile app. This is part of a series of improvements arriving early next year that will make communication with the app faster and smoother than ever. For now, we’re rolling out a beta version of our new registration system. You can learn more in this article.Instead of entering a registration password and carefully typing in an asset tag, you can now generate a QR code or short code for your engineers to quickly register new devices — simple, fast, and hassle-free.During the beta, you can choose whether to use the new system or stick with the current password-based method. And don’t worry: any devices already registered will not need to be registered again.

Improved Performance When Starting Work on a Job

The delay experienced when starting work on a job, especially on devices with a large number of forms, has been significantly reduced, resulting in a faster and smoother experience.

Improved Printer Selection for QR Code Printing on Equipment

Printing QR codes for equipment is now smoother on Android devices. If no printers are paired, users see a clear message prompting them to pair a printer via Bluetooth settings. Printing now starts with a single tap, and the selection screen closes automatically, preventing duplicate print actions and making the process more intuitive.

Fixes (6):

Job Not Removed from In Progress Tab After Sending to Another Engineer

After sending a job to another engineer, it was not immediately removed from the sender’s “In Progress” tab, and the header still displayed “Working on job no…”. This has been fixed so jobs are removed instantly and the header updates correctly, improving workflow clarity.

Prevent Saving Jobs Without Mandatory Order Reference on Mobile

When raising a new job from the mobile app, users could save the job even if the mandatory “Order Reference” field was left empty. The app now checks whether the Order Reference has been entered before allowing the job to be saved. If the field is left blank, a clear validation alert is shown, and the job cannot be saved until the required information is provided.

Job Enquiry List: Enhanced Filtering, Colour Coding, and Layout

The Job Enquiry screen on mobile has received a major usability upgrade! Now, each job row is colour-coded based on its cost code, making it easier to visually distinguish jobs at a glance. You can also filter jobs by type (service or repair) and by priority, helping you quickly find the jobs that matter most.Other improvements include:

Balanced column widths to fit more jobs on the screen and optimise space usage.

Word wrapping for long text fields (like Reason for Call), so important details are always visible.

Cleaner layout with less blank space, making the most of your device’s screen.

Mobile Time Entry: Issues with Hours/Minutes Input

There were issues with entering working hours and minutes on mobile:

Users could enter more than 24 hours per entry, bypassing intended restrictions.

The keypad showed a default “0” digit that had to be manually removed, instead of acting as a placeholder.

No alert was shown when entering more than 59 minutes.

With this update, the system now correctly restricts each time entry to a maximum of 24 hours, and the input behaves more intuitively. Users can enter hours and minutes using the keypad or increment/decrement icons, and values sync properly to the web application. This makes time tracking on mobile more accurate and user-friendly.

“Jump to Job” and “Reassign Job” Options Not Displayed Correctly

“Jump to Job” and “Reassign Job” Options Not Displayed Correctly
The “Jump to Job” and “Reassign Job” options were not appearing as expected in the Job Enquiry screen, depending on the job status and tab selected. The logic has been fixed so these options now display correctly based on job assignment and status, making job management more intuitive for engineers.

Scrolling Not Working on Samsung Galaxy A56 and Similar Devices

Users on Samsung Galaxy A56 and similar Android devices experienced freezing and unresponsive scrolling within the app. Now, users can navigate lists and content without any UI freezes or scroll lock issues, ensuring a consistent experience on all supported Android models.
