Within Self-Service Reporting (SSR), you can copy and change the Standard Dashboards available. These have been created by Service Geeni for your use. You can then base a new dashboard on it and make changes as per your requirements.

Getting There

To get to the Self Service reports section:

  • Select Business Intelligence from the menu.

  • Then, click on Self-Service.

Standard Dashboards Available

Below is a list of all the available dashboards:

  • Engineer League

  • Jobs Reports

  • Hire Contracts

  • Job KPIs

  • Engineer Summary - Jobs

  • Equipment Deal Dashboard

  • Jobs Completed Overview

  • Job Analysis - Time to Close

  • Supplier Analysis

  • Problematic Equipment

Dashboard Summary

Each Dashboard describes what's included when you click on the Annotation icon, located just above the Service Geeni logo.

Note: If no logo is present, the Description will be with the Annotation of the Dashboard Component, i.e. table, charts, etc.

Things to note before you get started

Data in Standard Dashboards is restricted to a limited amount by default. This is to streamline the dashboard's performance, and there could be too much data if there was no filtering applied at the start.

When viewing a report, after copying, some defaults may stop you from seeing any data. Once you have copied the dashboard, you can make these defaults available.

Example: Problematic Equipment Dashboard

Filtering by This Year

Filtering by Call Date

You may see No Matches or No Data.

This isn't a dashboard error, it's just the filter restricting what data is currently shown. Expanding the parameters should resolve this.

Manage a Dashboard

You can manage a dashboard via the vertical ellipsis (or Kebab menu).

When you click the ellipsis, you can:

  • You can Edit a current dashboard by using the pencil icon.

  • You can create a new dashboard based on the selected one with the Create With option.

  • The final option is to Duplicate, which will create a like-for-like version.

  • When in Preview mode, you can also Duplicate or Create New With by using the buttons in the top right corner.

Change the theme of the dashboard.

In edit mode, you can change the theme of a dashboard. Currently, you cannot create a bespoke theme, but our team is working on a solution to achieve this.

To do this:

  • Click the Dashboard tab.

  • Then, select Theme.

  • Here, you can choose a new theme, the default is Service Geeni.

  • After you have edited your dashboard, you click the Save button in the top left corner.

The Data Binding menu

The Data Binding menu controls the data in the dashboard.

To open the menu:

  • Click on the dashboard.

  • Then, select the Data Binding menu.

  • This is set to the Service Geeni Standard Data Model.

We offer 2 datasets

  • Service Geeni Standard Data Model

  • Your data set yourcompanyname.ServiceeGeeni.com

The Difference

The Service Geeni Standard Data Model is data delayed and will not include your company-specific details (that you have added to your Service Geeni system such as custom fields and custom forms (TCCs) for your use in SSR reports.

The yourcompanyname.ServiceGeeni.com Data Model will contain any custom fields and custom form tables and fields for your use with the report. If you need live data, use your data binding, but there could be performance issues.

Both data models point to the same database; there is, however one caveat: for performance reasons, use the 'Service Geeni Standard Data Model' which looks at a snapshot of data from the previous day.

Changing the Data Model in Databinding

To change the Data Model.

  • Click Dashboard.

  • Then click databinding and select the data model.

Now, you can change the components:

  • Click on the component.

  • Then, click on the data binding menu.

  • Click on the drop-down menu and select the data model.

Change Field name

You can easily change the name of a field or component.

To do this:

  • Select the Dashboard and click Edit.

  • Then, click on the component you wish to edit.

  • In the Data Binding menu, click on the cog next to the name.

  • Go to Rename.

  • You can also change the name of the title or subtitle in the Inspector for that component.

The Inspector Menu

The Inspector controls how things look on the Dashboard.

To open the global dashboard inspector, you need to make sure you haven't selected any components, such as the table in the example below.

To open the Inspector menu:

  • Click on a blank space to deselect any components.

  • Then, click on the Cog icon to open the Inspector menu.

The inspector lets you change or edit a whole host of elements, such as Themes, Font, Layout, Colours and much, much more.

When the Inspector opens:

  • You can search for a specific Property (or field) to edit (such as Layout or colour) via the Search Bar, which has the word DASHBOARD written in it.

This will help you quickly navigate the vast number of settings.

Change components colours

You can change the colours of a component from the Inspector.

To do this:

  • Click on a Component and open the Inspector.

  • From the drop down, you will find a selection of palettes to choose from according to your Dashboard Theme.

  • Each element within a component has a setting for the colour and font.

Delete (Remove) a component.

  • You can remove a component by clicking on it and selecting the Remove (Bin) icon.

Date Format

Depending on the type of component, there are different ways to format the date:

For a slicer:

  • Select the element.

  • Then, choose the Inspector menu.

  • Select Date Format.

  • You can choose a predefined format or create your own in Custom by editing the format in the Type field.

For Table and Chart Components:

  • Open the Data Binding menu.

  • Then, change the data field properties.

  • Exact Date and/or Edit format – Custom.

Examples of Date Formatting:

Day

Month

Year

dd = 13

mm = 11

yy = 23

ddd = Mon

mmm = Nov

yyyy = 2023

dddd = Monday

mmm = November

NOTE: You can use any divider Slash or dash / - or none, e.g. dd-mm-yy
