Engineer Timesheet

Discover what Engineer Timesheets are and how they work

Engineer timesheets allow for more detailed tracking of an engineer's hours within a specified time period, and you can also add time and export a timesheet.


Getting There

To find the timesheet module:

  • Navigate to the Finance menu.

  • Then, select Engineer Timesheets.

This opens the Engineer Timesheets module.


Searching for Timesheets

To get started, you need to enter some search parameters.

  • In the Select Engineer Field, click the ellipse to choose one from the list.

  • Then, enter a start and end date for the timesheet you want to generate.

    • Click on the calendar to select by month, year and day.

    • Using the up and /down arrows to navigate forward and backwards in time.

    • For quick navigation, click on the month/year - this will allow you to select by month/year.

  • Repeat this for the End Date.

  • If no end date is selected, the timesheet will pull all records from the start date till now.

A start and end date should be entered, otherwise, this could result in an extreme data search.

  • With your engineer and date ranges selected, click the Search icon.

The records box below will show your search results.

  • To see more details on each row, click the plus to expand the week commencing section.

  • This can be further expanded by clicking the icon again, opening the day details section.

  • You can click on the job number to view the job record, including the time allocated to jobs and details of the work completed.

  • If you need to add more time, you can do so with the plus icon.

  • Click Add to Task once done.

  • The Action Tray lets you edit, upload documents or delete the entry.

When you delete an entry, an alert will pop up.

  • Under the Work Done column, you can View any notes if available.


Export

Here you can choose to export the information.

  • Click on the down arrow and select Export.

  • Here you can choose to export to Excel or PDF.

For a more detailed report

If Include all rows in Export is On (Yes), then the export to Excel will include ALL rows in detail. Which includes Activity Type and Rate, even if they are not shown in their entirety.

If Include all rows in Export is Off (No), then the export to Excel will include all Rows with expanded detail.


Exporting the Timesheets

To export the timesheet, select the relevant option.

  • Export Selected Columns to EXCEL

  • Export All Columns to EXCEL

  • Export to EXCEL with "Include all rows in Export ON"

  • Export to PDF

  • If you wish to modify the displayed columns, click the down arrow.
